What you get when you buy WrapScribe, what you can do with it, and who takes the money.

Last updated 4 August 2026

The short version

You buy a licence key once. It activates WrapScribe on your own Macs — one Mac on Basic, three on Pro — and it keeps working, offline, with free updates. It is yours to use, not yours to hand out. If it is not for you, tell us within 14 days and we refund it.

The rest of this page is that, said carefully.

Who you are buying from

WrapScribe is a Mac app sold from wrapscribe.com. Throughout this page, “we” and “us” means the maker of WrapScribe, and “you” means the person or company buying the licence. You can always reach us at support@wrapscribe.com.

What the licence is

Buying WrapScribe buys you a licence to use it. You do not buy the software itself, and nothing here transfers ownership of it to you.

The licence is personal to you — or, if you bought it with a company card, to that company — and it is perpetual: there is no renewal, and no date on which it stops working.

  • Basic activates WrapScribe on one Mac.
  • Pro activates WrapScribe on three Macs, and unlocks meeting recording, the selection assistant, transforms and per-app writing styles.
  • Both plans include free updates, delivered in the app.

Replacing a Mac, or retiring one? Email support@wrapscribe.com and we will free the seat so you can activate the new machine.

What you can’t do with it

The one rule underneath all of these: a key is for the Macs the plan covers, and for nobody else’s.

  • Don’t share, publish, sell, sub-licence or give away your key, and don’t post it anywhere it could be picked up.
  • Don’t use one key to cover a team larger than the plan’s seats — buy the seats you need instead.
  • Don’t work around the activation, generate keys, or help anyone else do either.
  • Don’t redistribute WrapScribe itself, modified or otherwise. Send people to the download page.

If a key turns up in public, or is clearly being used well past its seats, we may deactivate it. We will email you first if there is any reasonable chance it was not deliberate.

Payment

Checkout is handled by Dodo Payments, who are the merchant of record for every WrapScribe purchase. That means Dodo takes the payment, handles sales tax and VAT where it applies, and is the name that shows up on your statement. Your card details go to them and never touch us.

Prices are shown in US dollars. Tax is added at checkout where it applies. Your key is issued as soon as the payment clears — it appears on the confirmation page and arrives by email.

Refunds

Fourteen days, no questions asked. The full policy and how to ask for one are on the Refunds page.

Your privacy

WrapScribe runs on your Mac. Audio, transcripts, meeting recordings, notes, your dictionary and your snippets never leave it — there is no endpoint on our side that accepts them.

What the account does hold is your email address, a name for each activated Mac, which key you redeemed, per-day word and dictation counts, and your app preferences. That is the whole of it. There is more detail on the privacy section of the home page.

What we don’t promise

WrapScribe is provided as it is. We have worked hard on it and we use it every day, but we cannot promise it will be free of bugs, that it will suit a particular purpose you have in mind, or that every dictation will come out the way you wanted.

It needs macOS 26 (Tahoe) on Apple silicon, and it leans on Apple’s own speech and Foundation Models. If Apple changes or withdraws those, some of what WrapScribe does may change with them.

To the extent the law lets us limit it, our total liability for anything connected to WrapScribe is capped at what you paid for your licence. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot legally be limited, and nothing here takes away consumer rights you have where you live.

Changes, and endings

We may update these terms — for a new plan, a new payment provider, a change in the law. The date at the top of this page always says when. Changes are not retroactive: the terms you bought under are the ones that apply to that purchase.

If we ever stop selling WrapScribe, Macs already activated stay activated. We are not going to reach into a licence you paid for and switch it off.
